Meet the Discovery Team ...
Discovery Travel began operating in September 2000 and initially organised holidays in Tuscany and Umbria. Since then we have steadily grown and now specialise in holidays in Southern Italy including the regions of Puglia, Abruzzo, Basilicata and Calabria.
Emma and Marco studied Italian at university and have lived and worked in Italy gaining experience in travel and tourism. Discovery Travel was born out of a love for Italy which they wanted to share with others. Having organised successful tours and breaks for friends and family across Italy the two decided to set up their own business and have never looked back.
Glyn joined the team as Discovery started to offer more regions and her work is split between Italy and the Discovery Office. Glyn looks out for new properties as well as making regular visits to our existing owners and properties. We all have a passion for travel and an eye for the special kind of accomodation that Discovery offers.
In September 2005 Sabrina joined the team. Sabrina is from Lake Como and is a valuable member of our team. Sabrina speaks English, French & German.
In Puglia we have now appointed new members of staff. Rita and Rino are based in the area near Ostuni while Anna works with owners in the areas close to Cisternino. Anna is a linguist graduate in German and English. Rino has just finished
restoring his villa which is on the coast. You can find their villa on our website, "Puglia Beach Villa".

You can be sure that when you contact Discovery you will be able to chat with people who love to talk about Italy; people who have seen the accomodation you will be enquiring about; have visited the towns you want to know about. Each property has been hand selected for its quality and charm and location and the Discovery team are thrilled to be able to share their research with you.
As a small company Discovery offers the flexibility and personal touch which larger tour operators are unable to do. The Discovery team are there not just to help you plan your holiday but will be able to offer assistance during and after your holiday as well.

The Italian Experience.........
The team at Discovery Travel work hard together to make sure you enjoy your holiday as much as possible.
In 2005 we started to seek out local activities which would make your holiday more enjoyable. Alessandro who is from Alberobello in Puglia organises accompanied half day cycling tours and gourmet tours of the area. In Umbria we are also arranging full day canyoning and rafting excursions for guests staying at Discovery Travel villas and apartments. Gianluigi is a fully qualified and experienced guide recognised by the "Regione Umbria" tourist board.
